DOW FILMTEC™ NF (Nanofiltration) membrane elements are designed to reduce minerals, organic compounds, and water hardness while operating at relatively low pressures and lower energy consumption. The NF270 series is particularly effective at reducing total organic carbon (TOC) and trihalomethane (THM) precursors, with moderate salt and hardness passage. The NF90 series is commonly used for water softening and offers sodium chloride rejection of approximately 90–96%. Both NF90 and NF270 membranes provide over 98% magnesium sulfate rejection, supporting efficient removal of selected dissolved substances.
