RESTORES WATER SOFTENER EFFICIENCY Pro Res Care is a specially formulated liquid resin cleaner designed to rid the softener of contaminants that salt alone cannot remove. Regular use of Res Care resin cleaner will restore the softener beads and control valve parts back to peak efficiency and maintain the life of the unit. For best results, use an Easy Feeder for continued defense of contaminant build-up. 99% of water softening occurs inside the resin beads. Salt only washes away the calcium but leaves the iron, manganese, silt, metal particles and organic compounds. Over time, these will coat the resin bead causing inefficiencies or total failure. Res Care will chemically clean a fouled resin bed of a water softener and restore the exchange capacity of the resin. Most types of water softening resins can become fouled with iron and other contaminants that will affect the performance of the ion exchange system. Iron fouling can cause channeling, pressure drop, loss of capacity, hardness, and iron leakage. Regular use of Res Care will minimize fouling and extend the resin life in the water softener. APPLICATIONS Continual Maintenance:

• Pro Products highly recommends the use of a Pro Easy Feeder to keep the softener running at peak efficiency.
• The unit feeds automatically and installs easily inside or outside the brine tank.
• Follow the recommended dosage and feed rates specified by the manufacturer or supplier.

Manual Application

• Pour 4 oz. (1/2 cup) of Res Care per cu. ft. directly into the brine well. For softeners without a brine well, pour directly into the salt tank when the salt level is low.
• Regular Use: Add 1/2 oz. (1 Tbsp.) per cu. ft. to the brine well before each regeneration.
• For Severely Fouled Units: Manually regenerate the softener. Repeat regeneration if taste, odor, or discoloration is detected in the discharge. Then run the cold soft water tap nearest the softener until the odor or taste is gone.

Technical Information:

• A liquid phosphoric acid mixture. Res Care is not to be used with gel zeolite materials.
